WELCOME TO THE 9TH VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITION
THE FULL ARTS PROGRAMME EMBRACES OVER 100 ARTISTS EXHIBITING IN FIVE UNUSUAL MAIN VENUES, PLUS OPEN STUDIOS AND EXHIBITIONS IN SHOP FRONTS, PUBS, CAFES AND ART CENTRES.

The Fringe Visual Arts Exhibition provides an opportunity for artists to showcase their work in Bath during the Festival Season. There will be new work from local artists as well as artists exhibiting in high profile community event for the first time. There is an experience for everyone, with ceramics, installations, sculptures, paintings, textile, costume design and poetry reading to enjoy.
Most of our main locations have been offered to us by the Council and local property developers who have allowed us to take over these empty buildings to paint, decorate and prepare for the biggest Fringe Arts Exhibition 2001.
This year we have fortunate to raise substantial funding from the lottery, which is helping to raise the profile of this community based project, through a presentation grant from South West Arts. Awards for All funding has enabled us to provide wheelchair ramps, video link-ups, braille and access information in our main exhibition venues.
The Visual Arts Programme is run by volunteers during February - June and we rely on the support of local businesses to contribute monies and sponsorship in kind. This year we are delighted to be able to produce this definitive arts guide, with thanks to Prime Arts and Media Development Printing. One final thing - all exhibitions are free, and to make your travel around the city that little bit different, we are providing free walking tours and coach tours.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
